I’m late in posting this sneak peek-but I sent it to Lowery’s mom on Facebook, and I forgot that I hadn’t posted it here too for all of you! If you’re on FB, friend me! I’ll upload sneaks from past sessions and you can show off your gorgeous kids to your high school boyfriend (LOL).
Lowery was almost two weeks old at her session, and was so easy to play with! Her big brother was also a star, but it’s this image that makes me feel so very festive every time I look at it.
The Heroes for Children 5K Run/Walk is a Rain or Shine event. We are watching Hurricane Ike closely and the weather reports. Weather.com is showing cloudy with no rains before 10am, with a 20% chance of rain at that time.

The Heroes for Children 5K is a great way to get involved! Join families for a full day of fun to benefit a great cause! Bounce houses, trackless train, face painting, etc entertain the children.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
The annual 5K Run/Walk is held in September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. More than 1,000 children will diagnosed with a form of cancer in the state of Texas this year. Did you know that 1 in 4 elementary schools have a child with cancer?
This is your opportunity to honor their fight and raise funds to make a difference in their lives!
Saturday is also the anniversary of Sweet Allie’s passing. Make a donation, post on her family’s blog, and just take a minute to remember a special little girl who should be turning 5. Instead, in her name thousands of families with children battling cancer receive financial assistance when they need it most.
Sweet Allie…thank you for all you have done, and all you continue to do.

Avery brought his three older siblings and his parents to the park today for their Adoption Sunday session. Adopted domestically at birth, his family enjoys an open relationship with his birthparents, and we are hope, hope, hoping to get his birthdad to Dallas so we can photograph the boys together. I’d love to showcase how cool open adoption can be (not to mention positive, healthy, and fulfilling for both sides).
Pssssst! Kids! Blow your nose before your session! Otherwise THIS may happen to YOU!
Avery’s poor parents almost didn’t make it home afterwards…I peppered them with so many questions about open adoption and their adoption experience. And OH!-they were so incredibly helpful and excited for us.
I realize that I am sooo behind in posting updates to our adoption blog. Need to get on that. I’ll work on something tomorrow (everything is fabulous and wonderful and just plain PERFECT)…but for now, I’ve got a certain friend’s kiddo over for a sleepover and have got to get busy with the nail polish and Barbie Mermadia.

Big brother Jackson (2.5) introduced me to his new little brother Preston today…and we had a great time playing with them both!
As you can see, Preston is obviously a happy, sunny little guy. We typically photograph babies as newborns, but I have to say that playing with a 9 week old sure has it’s benefits…including big, gummy smiles like these:
and great big blue eyes that look right at you, like these:
Jackson is a sweet big brother, big on kisses and easy to coerce to look into the camera…
(do you think he sees Thomas?) 
Every year we strive to make changes in our holiday mini sessions, to make sure we don’t have to turn anyone away (and every year we fail…I *hate* turning people away!)
So this year, in order to fit as many families in as we can, we are offering MONTHLY mini sessions…but I challenge you to consider booking one of the earlier dates rather than waiting. BECAUSE…I don’t want to have to turn you away!
The first date is coming up next Friday, August 1.
