Ella Dawn {ACPCG}

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Ella’s aunt Rachael, who told me about her soon-to-be niece. Ella was diagnosed with two rare congenital heart defects at 21 weeks gestation, and her family was traveling to Dallas for her delivery and surgery in hopes of giving her the very best medical care available. I was asked to photograph Ella as part of volunteering with the American Child Photographer’s Charity Guild.

Two days ago Ella entered the world, and was immediately whisked into surgery. The first of her two congenital heart defects was repaired during this surgery, and the second round of surgeries will begin in the next two to five days.

Today was the day that her Mommy was finally allowed to hold her daughter, and I am honored and blessed to have been able to witness and document it. I think the photos from today say more than I could ever attempt to express, so I just ask that you visit Ella’s blog and send up a prayer for her entire family.

Sophia + Jack {Frisco Newborn Photographer}

Babyplanner graduate Jack (now 3) introduced me to his new little sister, Sophia, this morning. And oh my…if she isn’t the spitting image of her big brother at the same age! (Which reminds me…what happened to Pumpkin? I forgot to ask!).

They just don’t come sweeter, easier, or sleepier than Sophia.

A quick, behind-the-scenes snap of Jack. Don’t worry Sophie, he’s got you covered.

Edith + Greta + Henry {Dallas Newborn Photographer}

6 day old Edith *may* be the youngest, and the littlest, and sure…she doesn’t quite know how to do more than just lay there and look cute. But give this kid a few months and I just *know* that Greta and Henry will show her the ropes. And when that happens? She’ll be able to hold her own. I just have a feeling ;)

A quiet moment with Mom and Dad, and the little one that completes their family of five.

Emerson Iris (+ hailey + ellie + addie + harper) – Dallas Newborn Photographer

Sweet Emerson Iris entered the world a week before amid claps and cheers (and a few brother-hopeful tears on a sister that will remain nameless). At her newborn session (our 3rd with this family…LOVE THEM) we had a ball throwing this tiny little thing in amongst her eager sisters in hopes of that ONE magical group shot.

Guess what, we got more than one ;)

But here’s my favorite…even Emerson can’t help but smile at her good fortune:

Her eyelashes are what I noticed in the delivery room…how does a brand new baby have eyelashes this fabulous?

And I just have to give out a quick shout-out to the people that help keep us mommies of multiple children sane over the summer…the nannies! You know how you keep these special saints happy? Celebrate the love they have for your kids (and vice versa), and make sure they know they are FAMILY. Because this? Is TRUE LIFE WITH FIVE KIDS:

Landon – dallas newborn photographer

I know! Another post about this precious little guy! That’s what happens when we get to photograph bellies, births, and then babies. LOVE. IT.

Mr Landon was such a champ for his newborn session, and was a VERY good boy because he didn’t pee on any of US (rather, on every blanket…and even in a bowl!). He’s a considerate little guy!

Much love to this sweet little family.

XO, Jen
