Psssssst!

not only are we THRILLED to announce the return of Spring mini sessions, but they are here JUST IN TIME to wow the woman you adore.

Gorgeous gift certificates are ready to purchase…for one of our SUGAR MINI’S, prints, a handbag, a canvas…you name it, we’ve got you covered!

{fine print}
SUGAR MINI’S are Friday May 14-Saturday May 15. 15-20 minutes in length, up to 4 subjects, locations vary by day/time (including Deep Ellum and this sunlit field of fabulousness). Email mindy@sugar-photography.com OR CALL 214.240.1044 (and do it fast…these spots fill up QUICKLY).

and who knows….maybe you’ll even get a little Sugar too! ;)

Noah is 1

Noah has been a delightful baby planner. Sweet, snuggly newborn…big eyed 6 month old…and now a lightning fast toddler. This year has FLOWN by, and I was thrilled to hear that there’s a new little one on the way for this cute family!

This is his “I have a rock and I’m not afraid to use it!” face. Which is better than the “I’m in an alley in Deep Ellum and I’M GOING TO EAT THIS ROCK!” (which happened a split second before…LOL)

I was usurped by the tractor working in the street. I may be fun, but I can’t hold a candle to tractors!

Campbell + Davis (+ little brother)

Campbell and Davis are a towheaded pair of brothers that I’ve loved getting to follow along during their annual Sugar session. This year we had the added bonus of their little brother, coming soon!

The Arboretum was absolutely gorgeous…and though we braved a Mommy and Me Monday and HORDES of people, we were lucky enough to snag a few of my favorite spots without too many bystanders (or little ones running through the background). Any time you’re at the Arboretum this is a feat, but at this time of year especially, that is called l-u-c-k-y.

Duke, Violet, Gracelyn + Quentin

HOLY LORD this post is late in going up. This awesome family drove a long way for their session (though I’m already not-so-subtly hinting that their NEXT session take place on their ranch…SWOON (and HINT HINT). We had a BALL in Deep Ellum that morning. It was freezing, Duke (the baby) had taken a nose-dive that morning and bled all over his outfit…shoes were lost and replacements scrounged up, happy Duke was uncharacteristically UNhappy that morning (busted lips will do that to a guy). And beyond ALL that…we had the best light, the cutest kids, the coolest locations and an all around awesome time.

This is, to me, the quintessential family photo…playful, bright, fun, and imperfect. LOVE IT. (want one of my kids!)

Smiling Duke did emerge…and it was worth the wait. What a doll!

The brothers…*slight* age difference, but HUGE sibling love here.

These girls are ADORABLE! So quick to laugh, eager to love, and their expressions are to-die-for!

We joke that sessions end when the tears begin…but Duke started with tears (so we ended when he got happy). Gotta keep it fresh! ;)

Wedding bells…

Small, intimate, casual weddings are SO VERY MUCH my style when it comes to weddings. In fact, I don’t do very many (on purpose…I just have such a love affair with babies and families, birth and new life…if I added weekend weddings I don’t think I’d ever sleep again!).

But this wedding was right up my alley, and from the bride’s lime green dress to the hot pink wedding cake, I was in HEAVEN. The adorable flower girls were such fun as well…new sisters, new life, and I think it’s obvious that this family has found their Happy Ever After.

I love this capture…snuck off-the-cuff, of Dixie and her step-father. Melts my heart.

Meet Annika, Dixie, and their parents Lindsay and Mark. Wishing you all a lifetime of laughter. XO
