Wyatt

How has this year flown by SO DARN FAST?

It was seriously just the other day that I first met Wyatt and his cute family (grandparents included), and wasn’t it yesterday that he showed off his Halloween costume? Now he’s the big 0-1…he’s cruising, babbling, and just about as ONE as one can get. What hasn’t changed? His sunny personality. I have a serious love affair with this happy little guy. I’d love to just put him in my pocket, carry him around, and pull him out whenever I need a smile.

LOVE. HIM.

I also love his CUTE CUTE CUTE parents.

Guess what…so does he:

Charlie, Caroline + Matthew

Charlie is one of our slew of little baby planners that is hitting that magical 6 month mark and OH MY GOODNESS do I love this age! Can’t quite get anywhere, but confident and proud of their new found ability to SIT LIKE A BIG KID. So darn cute!

Greyson, Hadley + Alex

Think it was a tad chilly outside this morning? Trust me, it was COOOOLD. Greyson, Hadley, Alex, their parents and I all trooped outside this morning for the baby’s six month babyplan session…and I think my fingers and toes are ALMOST thawed.

That being said, as I look through the images and try to pick just a FEW for the blog…I love that these kids? They just go with it. You’d never know it was 35 degrees, with ice in the puddles around us (or that they drove an hour and a half to be there this morning).

Rockstars…all of them.

Sam + Ben

IMG_3463

There is no better sibling name combo, in my book, than Sam and Ben. Simple, strong, complementary…and one day, best friends.

Sam became a big brother 8 days ago, and today he introduced me to his new baby (whose name is “Baby Brother AND Benjamin”). Sam was a Sugar Baby three years ago, and I love, love, love photographing our babies all grown up, with little brothers and sisters of their own.

Ben proved to be the opposite of his older brother as a newborn…sleepy, curly, and dry ’till the very end (at which point he baptized Mom instead of Dad, another opposite from last time).

But he is just as beautiful, and has the added bonus of having a sweetheart of a big brother to follow around VERY soon.

Three year olds are their very own challenge during any photography session, and my hat goes off to Sam for being unbelievably cooperative today.

He was pretty fascinated with all of Ben’s parts and pieces:

This one just makes me happy…you can see *exactly* how hard Sam was trying to do *exactly* what I was asking him to do. Love this kid!

Sweet Pea Ben:
Untitled-2

Congratulations you two…you have a beautiful family, and two very special little boys to watch grow. I hope this next year brings nothing but laughter and joy to your family of four :)

Aidan, CJ + Gavin

IMG_0789

Gavin had his 6 month baby plan session on Friday and OH MY GOODNESS do I love these kids. Four years ago (or was it 5?) Sugar opened for business and we jumped right in with both feet with our first round of holiday mini sessions. Aidan brought his parents, and I’ve been blessed to watch their family of three grow into a family of five over the years (and document each first year of life, or at least every fall, with my camera).

I love this session so much because it was just so. real. Life as a family of five is chaotic, crazy, loud and wonderful. Big sisters zoom by on scooters and little brothers bounce and squeal in the living room.

It isn’t perfect…it’s BETTER than perfect.

Case in point (how much do I LOOOOVE this image? It makes me laugh out loud every time I see it):

Ahhhh…but this? The real deal.

And sweet moments like this can’t be created (or recreated). They just ARE.

Sweet, sweet Gavin. Well loved by all (but not afraid to speak his mind):
