Sterling {fort worth adoption photographer}

I have witnessed the forming of families multiple times, and have loved documenting every single one. Through biology or adoption, when a couple becomes parents for the very first time, it is a profound, magical moment, and I am always honored to document it.

Baby Sterling is one of those lucky little ones that is absolutely surrounded by love. His first mommy loved him so much that she found the perfect people to be his forever mommy and daddy, and I was lucky enough to be there for their Placement. In a small hospital chapel, this baby boy was passed from mother to mother, father to grandmother. He was wrapped in a blanket knitted by his birth mother, blessed by a chaplain, and surrounded by members of both his families as he was officially welcomed into the arms of the couple that had hoped and waited and prayed for him.

To say that it was beautiful is an understatement. It was an emotional, beautiful, heart wrenching and uplifting moment to witness.

How’s this for a proud new daddy?

Welcome to the world, baby Sterling. It’s a wonderful place to be.

Ben + Sam {dallas childrens’ photographer}

Mr Ben has now completed his Sugar Baby Plan (*sniffle!*) and I’m not quite sure that I’m ready to NOT see these little guys every six months. It seems like just yesterday we started big brother Sam’s Baby Plan with his newborn session. Literally, yesterday. This whole kids-growing-up-in-a-flash just *has* to stop (someone get on that, okay?).

So anyway, Ben. 1 year. Blue eyes. Huge smile. Happy kid. LOVE. (and, he’s quick. Keep scrolling down…)

I also love Sam, and when he looks at his brother like this? My heart just melts.

Ben is the king of expressions (keep scrolling…)

He has a gorgeous mom,

a playful dad,

and a silly brother.

(who also doubles as a GQ model. For serious.)

How much do we love quick, expressive, can’t-catch-me one year old Ben? LOTS.

Hey Ben and Sam…talk those cute parents into one more for me, okay? ;)

Know what happens when you take two (completely adorable, tow-headed, blue eyed) little boys out into the wilds of Dallas?

You get adorable expressions…

and then a quick hustle home for benadryl and calamine when the oldest finds a patch of poison oak.

You’ll be seeing these boys again REALLY SOON, as we’ll be going for round 2 asap ;) (but even WITH a cut-too-short-shoot, how darling are they?)

Charlie + Matthew + Caroline {Dallas Children’s Photographer}

Charlie’s last babyplan session was yesterday and OH MY WORD am I going to miss seeing this family every few months. Caroline was one of the original babyplanners (in fact, it was her cute mommy’s suggestion that we offer something in a package that created it in the first place). Though, somehow, I think they are excited to graduate to holiday session families, who only have to coordinate and wear bright smiles while sweating in the heat once a year instead of three. So, my pity party is for me only. ;)

And we managed to end our third babyplan with a bang. Location #1 was a big, fat FAIL (don’t get us started because *grumble grumble UNPUBLISHED PHOTOGRAPHY FEE DIDN’T OPEN ON TIME grumble*), but we quickly hightailed it to location #2 and went to town…playing peek-a-boo with the 11:00 sunshine and August heat. And I won’t lie…there *will* be some headswapping taking place with the final images (after 3 babyplans, this family knows only too well of my mad photoshop skillz)…but after a quick run-through I am delighted with the highlights from our grand adventure.

This one just makes me laugh…such a typical image of a VERY LOVED little brother.

Meet Mr Serious (AKA “Ben”). He has deep, soulful blue eyes that look at you and say “Seriously? It’s HOT out here!” (also, “Isn’t my mom gorgeous? RAWR.).

and “So…you realize that standing in grass is NOT AT ALL the same as standing in my crib, right? RIGHT?”

Then “Yeah, these are my guys, and this is my foot…what of it?”

Until finally, I was summarily dismissed (with fanfare).

Oh, but wait…first we had to try and get him to crack a smile. The foolproof way? Big brother Sam knows just what to do…
