Table for 12…

What does love look like?

I think it looks an awful lot like this family.  This family has TEN. KIDS.

10.

Aren’t they beautiful?

The two oldest are biological, and the 8 youngest are adopted from the foster care system.  Their home is filled with laughter, joy, patience, and an overall sense of love.  I have a feeling there is rarely a dull moment in this family :)

And what do you think a family of 12 uses to get around?   What my husband calls The Jon and Kate plus 8 van.

Abby, Alex + Coleman…

Today we officially had our last Adoption Sunday session of the year. We waited until this little guy was ready for pictures, and today was the day!  I think his Mommies just wanted to get a good night’s sleep first. I can’t imagine why! ;)

Abby and Alex are adopted from Russia and Guatemala, and their little brother Coleman has quite the duo to look up to in the years to come.  They absolutely ADORE him, and it was not hard getting them to love on this little man.

Adoption Sunday (our last one!)…

Okay, so I said this before.  And I know we have one more family waiting in the wings, so this may not be THE last, but it’s the last one on my books for a long while.  Holiday season has officially hit, and we are swamped!

Meet Rose.  She was adopted domestically at a few weeks old, and is the little sister of a dear friend of mine.  Her adoption is closed, though I know she’s been thinking about trying to find her birthmother lately.  She’s one VERY cool person, one that I’ve loved getting to know, and one that I hope will think *I’m* cool enough to be friends with in the future.

Plus, look at her daughter’s hair.  I am going to need all the tips and tricks she can spare so our baby girl has hair as pretty as Cora’s.

Of course, we had to snap a quick photo with GaGa (and 2 of her 3 grandkids…the other one decided he was finished at about this point. But we’ll torture him photograph him again later.)

Love the different shades of brown in this photograph…Love comes in every shape, size, and color!

Blake and Grayson…

Our last Adoption Sunday session took place on Sunday, and we are sad to see an end to these wonderful family sessions.  The holiday season approaches, and it’s time to focus on the craaaaziness of the next few months :)

Grayson and Blake were fitting as our last session…sweet, loving, and absolute dolls…they were a fun way to wrap up the sessions.

Blake is 2, and was adopted at birth.  Her birthmother and her mother are cousins, and theirs is an open adoption.

Grayson is 6 months, and is his parents’ biological son.  And I’m sorry, but can you get enough of that red hair and blue eyes?

Thank you to all of the families that participated in our Adoption Sunday project.  There are a few families we weren’t able to fit in, and we hope to find open weekends here and there in the coming months to squeeze you guys in.  Also-we are still looking for families that have adopted from Africa and India…so if you know of anyone, send them our way!

Lucy + Jadyn

Today we had a very last minute Adoption Sunday session, due in part to a last minute trip back ‘home’ (El Paso). I’ll be back on Monday, but am looking very forward to mexican food, cousins, old friends, and maybe even a little camping (don’t look so shocked!).

This sweet family was so nice to make extra time for me today so could capture these two cousins (one of which lives all the way in Florida). We let the girls get reacquainted, and it didn’t take long…since they are, after all, “best fwiends”.

Lucy and Jadyn were both adopted from the same Province in China (though different orphanages). Lucy was 14 months when she found her forever home with her cute mommy and daddy.

and her fun little cousin, “JJ” is 15 months younger.

These two are just so happy to be near one another. They were adorable to watch!
