Everett + Alex

I’m totally posting yesterday’s sessions out of order…

The LAST session yesterday (who had to look at me for an hour in my most disheveled, uber-queasy (more on that later), not-a-drop-of-makeup, scary state…poor family!) belongs to these two brothers. Everett and Alex have been Sugar more than once…namely here, here, here and oh yeah, here (plus, there was one more from 2005, but I guess I didn’t blog way back then. Bummer.).

This time we went a little more funky, and had a ball exploring Deep Ellum. Somewhere we took a wrong turn and stumbled across a cool little area that I hadn’t seen before…can’t wait to try and find it again!

Delaney, Kelsey, Riley + Mikayla

This was the weekend of the whirlwind sessions…four in one day, and an AWESOME way to end our holiday sessions for 2009 (though I must admit I was in bed by 8 and asleep by about 8:20 last night).

Which is a total win-win for you guys, as I have four gorgeous sessions to post (it’s a Sugar-Palooza!).

These gorgeous sisters came to play last year and I was *so* looking forward to seeing them again. Our session was originally scheduled for two weeks ago, but there was a shoe-snafu and we had to reschedule (and when you see these shoes you’ll understand why we HAD to reschedule!). It was totally worth it too…these girls were stylin’ from head. to. toe.

Gavin had his 6 month baby plan session on Friday and OH MY GOODNESS do I love these kids. Four years ago (or was it 5?) Sugar opened for business and we jumped right in with both feet with our first round of holiday mini sessions. Aidan brought his parents, and I’ve been blessed to watch their family of three grow into a family of five over the years (and document each first year of life, or at least every fall, with my camera).

I love this session so much because it was just so. real. Life as a family of five is chaotic, crazy, loud and wonderful. Big sisters zoom by on scooters and little brothers bounce and squeal in the living room.

It isn’t perfect…it’s BETTER than perfect.

Case in point (how much do I LOOOOVE this image? It makes me laugh out loud every time I see it):

Ahhhh…but this? The real deal.

And sweet moments like this can’t be created (or recreated). They just ARE.

Sweet, sweet Gavin. Well loved by all (but not afraid to speak his mind):

Madeleine, Olivia + Ella

I haven’t seen these big girls in three years, and little Ellie in two…so today’s session was much anticipated (and sadly rescheduled a few weeks ago due to, YOU GUESSED IT, rain). Today could not have been more perfect for photos…the sky was perfectly overcast, the weather was mild, and I don’t know what memo I missed, but there were NO OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS in the park. I’m so used to avoiding scads of people at weekend park sessions, and today was just absolutely lovely in every way.

Not only that, but these girls? Beyond adorable. Also? REEEEAAALLY ticklish:

Kyle, Luke, Carly + Cole + Chloe

First, let’s give these parents a loud round of applause (and maybe buy them a round of drinks, too). When Mindy first called to see if I could squeeze this family in for holiday photos, I had to laugh when I heard their ages…10, 5, 3, 3, 3 (yes, triplets).

I’m never one to turn down a challenge, and their mom sounded *so* sweet on the phone, so OF COURSE we had to say yes!

We met Saturday for a quick session at their home, and I just fell in love with these kids! Each of them has his or her own little personality which made it surprisingly easy to NOT mix up their names (a lot). Plus, their parents? As funny and down to earth as one might expect.

In other words: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE LOVE LOVE.

(I thought my husband *might* notice if I brought these three home with me…otherwise I would have been perfectly happy to tuck them into my pocket and take them with me.)
