Sydney + Lexi

Sydney and Lexi’s session was a reunion for me. I first photographed them when Lex was a newborn and I was doing mini sessions for Babystyle up at Willow Bend (Spring, ’06…I think). I photographed Lexi’s first year, then they left me and moved to California (sob, sob). We kept in touch periodically, and I was thrilled to hear that they were moving back! Their dad contacted me to see about a mini, but needed a weekend (high maintenance guy…but he’s a charmer, so we let him get away with it ;) ). So Saturday’s mini sessions were put into motion because of these girls (and their sweet-talkin’ dad)…and it was a fabulous day with perfect weather. I think I should thank THEM for making it happen! THANK YOU GUYS! (and welcome back to Texas!)

I think this is my favorite, hands down:

Sydney has grown…her hair is longer, her vocabulary is huge. She’s long and lanky and fast on her feet. But her eyes…they have never changed:

Lex? I’ve known her since she had a mop of spiky hair on her newborn little head…but WOW. Her eyes just blow me away.

I’m home (thawing out with a bowl of chili) in between shoots…and will get the rest of the mini’s and then the two from today up asap! It’s been such a great weekend for shooting (let’s hope this last shoot goes well…heading out in about 30 minutes)

Hudson + Sadie

THESE KIDS! They are just growing up SO MUCH!

Sweet Sadie was just a teeny little thing the last time I saw her, and I had to laugh when her mom promised “She has hair!”. LOOK AT THIS HEAD OF HAIR! I just love those curls:

She’s turning into quite the fashionista too…which is not surprising, considering how well dressed her older brother always is:

(look at his freckles! So stinkin’ handsome!)

This would be mini sessions number…oh, I don’t remember. I think I’ve lost count ;) We have another day of them coming up this weekend-can’t wait for more cute kids!

Christopher + Michael

I am slowly posting mini sessions from last week-sorry for all the delays! We had a chickenpox scare earlier this week, and have been busy busy busy with ordering sessions, editing, and all the fun stuff that comes with 3 kids and 2 in-home businesses during the busiest time of the year. LOVE IT. Seriously.

Families like the ones I get to see this time of year make it ALL worthwhile. Christopher and Michael have been annual visitors for a few years now, and it was wonderful to see how big and grown up they’ve become!

These blue eyes are just spectacular!

I *love* little moments between siblings…it just melts my heart every time

Katy + Andrew

Look at these two cuties! We were so lucky during our mini sessions on Thursday…I drove through *RAIN* to get there, and each family agreed to just go ahead and show up and see what happened.

Katy and Andrew were our first family, and we hemmed and hawed in the street in front of the park for a little while, and finally decided ‘Let’s do it!’.

As we walked down to the meadow I swear to you, the drizzle stopped, the clouds parted, and the sun shone for just a few minutes. And right when we were finished, the clouds grew darker and the rain began again.

Mother Nature, how did you know? ;)

There’s always something special about little girls and their doting Daddies:

This little guy has grown up SO MUCH. I first photographed him while he was a bump in his Mommy’s cute little belly. Look at him now…THIS is why I love this time of year. All my favorite kiddos come to visit :)

Ava

Meet Ava…(almost) 4, funny, vivacious, all-around firecracker. She brought her beautiful mommy out to play for a mini session, and we had THE best time. She’s quick, this one…and challenged me to more than a few games of ‘chase’. She won a few too, and it may or may not have been because I’m out of shape (I let her win…no, really). ;)

I love these of Ava with her mommy…especially this first one:

But oh, look at this one!
