Sweet Colette came into the world last Monday, and on Wednesday was placed in our arms and became forever ours. She is an absolute dream baby, both in spirit and temperament, and I had THE best time photographing my own little one. Not unlike every other newborn I get to play with, she needed some persuasion to fall asleep. But once she was out, she let us do all sorts or crazy things to her…just take a look:
BIG HUGE THANKS to Ann of Ann Beck Photography for sending Coco this awesome little onesie. It arrived *just* in time, and I think we’ll use at least one of these on her birth announcements. It is so perfect!
(see? crazy. our great dane Hannah is awesome with kids. I think we’ll have to get this one BIG for our bedroom.)
And this, my friends, is why I look so harried and crazed these days. If you see me around town or at school picking up the other two kids..just keep walking. We listed out all of the sessions that need to be edited in time for holiday cards and it’s over 30. The good news? I’m getting *really* good at editing pics with a baby over my shoulder. That’s talent, people.
And you know what? I can’t imagine it any other way. We are so blessed.

Oh I am so happy it fits! It was between 0-3mos regular and 3-6 organic.. so I went with the larger (but more earth friendly!) one.. only the best for little sugar!

I have followed your “Waiting” blog and have found myself in tears more than once. I also follow (google reader) a lot of photography blogs and these are by far the BEST newborns I’ve ever seen. Truly they are almost not even real- she really looks like a baby doll. So precious and sweet is your lil’ Coco. We have a coco too, but he is normally a coconut!

Beautiful! I absolutely adore the shot w/ the doggie! What a perfect pooch to allow a little baby to snuggle. Then again, who wouldn’t like a little baby snuggle?

Just when I think I couldn’t possibly see a better photograpgh from you –you blow me away again and again! Granted, the subject is the super sweet, fabulous Coco! But the portraits are just unbelievable. You are so, so talented! Love her with the dog…love her with the darling pink hat, and boy, want to know where you shop!! You’ve got a pass that on to me! She looks so pretty in them, but more than that, just peaceful and content!

She is so precious! I came upon your blog a couple months ago and love your work! I know in my heart that I will adopt someday as well and so I enjoy following other’s journeys down the road that I will take someday as well. And that onesie!! Oh my gosh, where did your friend get it from?? I have 8 friends who are pregnant right now and would love to gift that onesie! Jen, I cannot believe how much she looks like our little girl, Brooklyn! My husband walked in when I was looking at your other blog and said “Wow, she looks like Brooklyn!” Their mouths are almost identical, as Brooklyn has the same little dip in her lower lip that Colette has. I love it, because it will always make me remember Colette and your family and rejoice in how blessed you all are:)

OK – I am very very late on the news. But so so happy for you and your family. I’m not connected online really – I saw something you posted on twitter that made me think – oh oh! Jen – this is fabulous! I would call but my contacts got messed up when I was getting my iphone. Some transfered and some did not. I think I had you in as Jen – plus I had a a Jen in my email contacts…. messed it up. Life is good? Yes. I know the answer.

I check your site from time to time and found it through Jenny Scott’s site (who I have followed over the past few years). I love photography - do not do anything apart from take photos of my children - but you inspire me everytime I visit. Such a shame you are in the US and I am in Australia - never mind!.
