Cool Man Luke…

Today was our last session of Luke’s baby plan…and for a change of pace we hit the park (braving the immense humidity, mosquitoes the size of buzzards, and mud). It was one of those days that we agonized over the decision of ‘do we, or don’t we?’. It was POURING this morning when we woke up (forcing my morning session to reschedule…look for them in about two weeks). But because of travel schedules, and the fact that the rain STOPPED and the sun was SHINING by midafternoon…we went ahead with it.

It was soooooo humid. But look at this smile…it was *sooooooo* worth it!

Alex is 2!

I really can’t believe that it’s been a solid year since Alex’s first birthday! When did time fly by so fast? I see it in my own kids, of course….but it really shows with client’s kiddos.

And now, he’s going to be a big brother! Of course, we have some really fun images of his Mommy’s cute belly…but I just had to show his hysterical bed head that greeted me when I arrived:

We tamed the wild beast, and he was one of the most cooperative two year olds I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph! Such a doll!

On a sidenote…you guys should have seen how *horrible* I looked this morning at this session! My husband had an early am flight, and didn’t reset the alarm. We all woke up late, and I had two kids to feed, dress, myself to shower and dress, and there was still the drive to preschool for drop-off.

Thankfully, Alex lives about 3 miles from our school…but in the process of dressing, feeding, chasing, and loading the kids up my flatiron died (cue lovely frizzy hair), my makeup disappeared (cue shiny, spotty face from exfoliation this morning), and my favorite top was stained by waffle syrup (cue wrinkled, does-not-make-me-look-skinny green shirt). I was a sight.

Add to that the mud that my kids marched through on the way into school (30 minutes LATE), and the parents that were enjoying their tour of our school..who then had the chance to watch my kids leave muddy footprints as they marched through the front office while hearing about the ‘grace and courtesy’ that our school promotes in it’s students.

It was a proud, shining moment for me.

Thankfully, Alex’s session rocked, and I was able to come home, find my makeup, locate a ponytail holder, and change my shirt…and all was right with the world again!

My sweet life…

I am so in love with these family images that I must share! These are the things that make my life so sweet!

Big thanks to Diana for doing such an outstanding job! XOXO!

******

I usually get a few emails a month from clients looking for birthday ideas for their little ones (since I’m planning two parties at the moment, now’s a good time!), I thought I’d share my latest find with all of you too!

In case you didn’t know-we’re big fans of Heroes for Children! I am so excited about their SuperHeroes Birthday Club, and even more excited that the card designer we’re working with for our one-of-a-kind Sugar Cards ALSO designs the cards for Heroes! Not only that, with a little prompting she’s opened herself up for business and is currently designing the *cutest* birthday invites, party favors, thank you cards…the works!

If you’re looking for something fun, different, and festive for your little one’s birthday this year, Peanut Press is the place to go!

You’ll see the invites Megan designed for my Sam’s party, as well as the bookmarks we’ll be giving as her party favor, letting guests know a charitable donation was made in their name. It was SO nice to just let her know the general theme of the party (unicorns, princesses, tea party) and she whipped up the perfect invite! Definitely NOT something I could have found in a store!

(and if you have *any* idea where I can find the wished-for “real pegasus pony unicorn baby“-I’d be forever grateful!
