From one extreme to the other…

This morning I had an extra fun time with Beck. He and I met at a birthday party for his buddy, and I snapped a picture of his huge brown eyes and fell in love. I’ve been looking forward to an entire session devoted to those eyes ever since…and he did NOT disappoint!

He’s a quick one too! We ran around the back yard, the front yard, the house, the front yard again, the driveway, his bedroom…and then I came home and took a nap (Ha! I wish!).

It was worth the extra workout-I can’t wait to show his fun parents their session-I’m not sure they believed me when I said how GOOD he was doing! I meant it!

This afternoon we had the exact opposite of a two year old boy’s session…a Senior in Deep Ellum!

Meet Lauren: Co-Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad with eyes as blue as the sky and a smile as fabulous as the clothes she picked out to wear!

We had such fun today with her mom, tooling around Deep Ellum, looking for bright, vibrant walls to photograph and cool, funky backgrounds.

Thanks Lauren and Nancy for such a great afternoon! :)

Sweetness, 2007!

Today was day one of our fun, quick, painless and sweet-as-sugar Holiday Mini Sessions.

Check out today’s little cuties! We could not have asked for better weather-it was just a perfect, perfect day. It’s like a fashion show out there-these kids wore the. cutest. clothes.

Look for even more cute kids (and stylish duds) next week!

Sam the man!

I’m sorry…I just have to take a minute to let the fact that Sam is now One sink in. *SAM*. The one who’s newborn photo I still pull for auction slideshows and consider one of my favorites.

That, and the fact that he shares a name with my daughter makes him a special guy to me. Where did the last 6 months go?

One.

1.

Uno.

Wow.

I think this might be the *perfect* last page for his one year coffee table book:

The last image we took today…’Da Boys: Sam with Daddy and the dog (who was SO well behaved-he put my dog to shame). That is one happy little guy!

Jake and the Froggy Day

My husband calls this kind of weather “Froggy”.

Misty, foggy, damp and chilly.

I was rubbing my hands with glee in anticipation of today’s urban session…what better weather to shoot in than soft diffused light? I can’t think of anything better!

But first-a few images from my house on the ‘froggy’ morning…the kids and I were outside in our jammies, snapping pictures of this massive spider web:

And I think I finally found the perfect subject to photograph….slow moving (but wait…also no expression and no personality…eh, I’ll pass!). Give me a feisty two year old any day!

Or just give me Jake! He was completely stylin’ in his red vest and rainboots this morning. As I kept saying…”He’s just so stinking CUTE!”.

Don’t you think so too?

He was also super cooperate, and we had a ball exploring the back alleyways of Plano. “Keep Out”? Who, us?

Yesterday’s rainstorm left us the perfect gift for today’s session (what’s better for a boy in rainboots than a big PUDDLE!!!!).

The results from round 2 (or is it 3?)…will there be a 4th?

Round 1: A few weeks ago I had to reschedule a few clients at the very last minute because of my sister’s delivery in Houston.

Round 2: We met in Plano last weekend for Sloan’s rescheduled 1 year session, and after five minutes this hazy, misty, drizzly rain started. We kept going, but finally had to call it a day, and rescheduled for…

Round 3: This morning we met, yet again, in Plano. Second verse, same as the first. Same cute clothes, same location, much better weather.

But we were thwarted by a “I-don’t-want-to-look-at-you-or-smile, I-just-want-to-run-or-be-held” one year old.

Ahhhh, yes. The joys and special challenges of one year olds.

But…pssst! Sloan’s Mommy and Daddy…take a peek at these! We may not need that round 4 after all!

I love this one, just because it captures exactly what was going on…the perfect location ( a weathered blue door and ivy), the perfect outfit, the cutest baby, but NO WAY was she going to let Daddy put her back down! We’d lower her to the ground, and she’d scream. We’d try to get Daddy to sit, and she’d scream. So we would all just look at her, scratching our heads thinking “Well…NOW what?”

I think Sloan was enjoying herself ;)
