This morning we met at the park for a session with a family of dear clients that moved allll the way to San Diego, but still came allll the way back to Dallas for photos (and because they know our Christmas Cards rock!).
I had to do a little quick thinking, as Lexi was asleep when they pulled up, and Sydney burst into tears the minute her feet hit the ground. It was 6 am their time…poor things!
However, five minutes later we were once again fast friends, and I had my usual fun, playful session with these two beauties (and their parents aren’t so bad looking either).

In the end we worked our way down to the creek and had a ball splashing, throwing rocks, and trying not to fall, bottom first, into the cool water.

Afterwards I drove all the way to my favorite Starbucks drive through to see another old friend…the first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Mmmmmm…It was as good as I remembered!
After today we’ll be laying low for a week. We are taking a family vacation to Colorado for the week. Driving. In one car. With another family. To stay in a cabin. That a friend and I bid on at a church auction (after two glasses of wine)…come to find out, there’s no electricity and an outhouse. Yep…it’s a far cry from last weekends’ island getaway! And this is why you don’t drink and bid.
But this is the stuff blogs are made of! I’ll be taking my camera, and documenting as we go. I somehow doubt that we’ll have internet access (the lack of electricity makes me assume as much….)
But I’ll post a few fun pics of our adventure when we get back next weekend!
In the meantime, Debbie and Mindy are still holding down the fort!
And now, it’s time to bathe the Great Dane for her week at Debbie’s (thankfully they have a GD as well…she’ll be glad for another dog’s company…we did end up putting our other dog to sleep yesterday). Good thing I’m already muddy from the morning in the creek!
Wagons HO!

I came across your blog. And I have to say I love your photos! They are so cute!
Oh! I am so sorry to hear about your pup. There is nothing harder then making that decision… A trip away will be good for all of you.
I don’t know if I’ve posted a comment here before, but I read your blog regularly. I am a photographer in the Phoenix area who just recently started doing it as a business. I had the joy of doing my first family session this weekend with a 15 month-old and I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to get this teething 15 month-old to smile even once the whole time. Playing with his toys, trying out the slide on dad’s lap, running through the grass, nothing! This is what we had for the majority of the session: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11887439@N07/1320704765/
I’d like some of your magic! Any advice? amanda_nemec@hotmail.com
I’m drooling over your photos! I saw your ad in Dallas Child. Thank you for sharing your gift of photography with us.
