Gina Alexander alert!!!

I just submitted images for my very own bag! This is a horn-tooting event because it is *impossible* to coerce my kids to

a) sit together without squishing one another, breathing on one another, or otherwise intrude on the other’s ‘personal space’;

b) neither is crying, rolling their eyes, or squinching their eyes shut and shouting “CHEESE!”; and

c) they are both looking at the camera at the same time

This means it’s not only Gina Alexander worthy, but it’s also blog-worthy!

I’m having this made as a Nicole Baguette (aka cutest bag on the planet), with tan leather trim

I think I may have to go ahead and order jewelry, holiday cards, canvases, grandparent gifts, and anything else I can while I’m at it…you have no idea how rare of an event this is! (proof that even though I am a photographer, I am not immune to the challenges of photographing my kids!!!)

Sweet comments

always make my day! I have to share this:

Going through the session again reminded me of your uncanny ability to capture the true spirit and unique essence of a family. Each picture sparkles with freshness and originality. They’re like little gifts from that precious, fleeting moment in time! Thank you for sharing your talent with us in such a thoughtful way.

Also, I really enjoy your blog – you are an engaging writer, as well. You never fail to inspire!

~this from our own editor of Dallas Child, which is *high* praise as I consider her writing to be above par. I always flip to her ‘letter from the editor’ column in the magazine each month and am never disappointed (well, that and to see the picture of her cute family).

Of course it’s sad, but after all that, today’s post won’t be too engaging (sorry Shelley!). We are working hard to finalize designs for our 2006 holiday card collection as well as plans for the mini sessions in October (final details coming soon).

We are booked solid until October, and I have a sneaking suspicion those few remaining sessions will go fast (no pressure, just something to keep in mind).

Our baby plan has been wildly popular, and as such we are going to have to close it to new babies for a few months, until our oldest ones graduate (September/October). Just something else to keep in mind. It’s so important that we keep the number of current clients at a certain amount, and too many clients means less attention can be paid to each family, and this just won’t do. It looks like this fall will include families with sessions already booked, babies already enrolled in our baby plan, and those that decide to participate in the mini sessions.

Okay, enough of the rules and regulations. The fun stuff will be posted in a few days! Stay tuned!

And as always, it’s so important to include at least ONE picture in each blog post:

A self portrait of your’s truly…check out my stylish scrubs from last week’s birth!

Wedding bells…

rang in Fort Worth last month when Trish and Sean were married. I was asked to second shoot with an amazing wedding photographer, Pat (you won’t see any weddings on her site, she does them on the side…but she’s perfect for them as her work has a rare intimacy about it).

We had fun and worked fast before the rain fell (always good luck!).

It was a gorgeous wedding, and the reception literally rocked the house!

Meet Greta…

Nine months of anticipation…Today…8:30 am…Presby Dallas…and the announcement came:

“It’s a girl!”

Greta Ellen arrived safe and sound, and let the world know she was here with her mighty cry.

Congratulations Brad and Janet! You have a gorgeous baby girl to go along with your handsome little man! Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of this very special day!

quick rundown…

Holiday Sessions: October 7 is tentatively scheduled as our holiday mini session date. Details to follow in a few days, including package prices and available time slots. These will be filled on a first come/first served basis, and we may schedule a second day in late October or early November if demand is high enough. This is a fantastic way to get those awesome holiday cards ordered and out of the way BEFORE Thanksgiving (what a concept, at least for me!). Our goal this year is to make your holiday easy and stress-free…and this is just the first step!

We’ll be debuting our unique holiday card designs soon! If you thought last year’s cards were fun, just wait until you see our 2006 collection!

Did you see the news yesterday? Our favorite babies, Allie and Maggie Scott were featured last night in a segment on News 8. Their amazing daddy was a bone marrow donor and allowed the cameras to follow along. I had chills, goosebumps, and tears while watching the segment. You can read the transcript here, and I highly suggest watching the video clip (look on the right side of the screen, under the picture of Jenny and Allie for the link to this clip).

Happy Birthday!!! Tomorrow is the day that Janet and Brad get to meet baby Peanut! I’ll be there to document the big event, and will be out of pocket all day as a result. Feel free to leave me a voicemail or email if you need anything!

And because I can’t post without including at least ONE picture…

oooooh Peanut…There’s someone here that can’t wait to meet you!
